Several communities, one council

Moreton Bay is not one market. Redcliffe and Bribie Island skew much older and mostly ask for in-home aged care, dementia support and respite. North Lakes, Narangba and Burpengary are younger families who more often need NDIS supports for children and young adults. Caboolture sits somewhere between the two. We staff those areas differently rather than pretending one roster fits all, and we plan around Caboolture and Redcliffe hospitals for anyone coming home after an admission.

Where we work in Moreton Bay

On the peninsula we cover Redcliffe, Margate, Woody Point, Clontarf, Scarborough and Newport. Inland we work through Kippa-Ring, Rothwell, Mango Hill, North Lakes, Kallangur, Petrie, Lawnton, Bray Park and Strathpine. Further north we cover Deception Bay, Burpengary, Narangba, Morayfield, Caboolture and Elimbah. Bribie Island, Beachmere and Ningi are covered, and we reach the western fringe at Wamuran, Woodford and Dayboro with more notice.

Dementia and aged care at home

The number of older residents on the peninsula and on Bribie Island means dementia support is a bigger part of our Moreton Bay work than anywhere else we operate. Our approach is to change as little as possible: same worker, same time of day, same order of tasks, because familiarity does more for someone living with dementia than any amount of extra hours. We also work with the family carer directly, since carer burnout is usually what forces a move into residential care.

Availability across the region

Aged care at home, community nursing, dementia support, respite care, personal care and domestic assistance are available region-wide, alongside supported independent living, community access, high-intensity nursing and NDIS mental health supports. Bribie Island and the Woodford and Dayboro fringe are covered, but capacity there is tighter, so check before you commit to a plan. Call 0493 376 525 for current availability in your suburb.
