Staying in the home you retired to

Much of our Gold Coast work is helping older residents avoid moving into residential care. That means domestic assistance and personal care shaped around a routine that already works, dementia support that keeps familiar surroundings intact, and respite that gives a family carer a real break rather than a token two hours. Several of our nurses came through Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital, so local discharge planners already know how we operate.

Gold Coast suburbs we cover

Southport, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach and Miami are covered from our central roster. South we work through Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach, Currumbin, Tugun and Coolangatta. West and inland we cover Nerang, Carrara, Mudgeeraba, Robina, Varsity Lakes and Tallebudgera. In the fast-growing north we support Helensvale, Oxenford, Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau. Hinterland visits to Springbrook and Beechmont are possible but need more notice.

Community access that uses the coast

Community participation on the Gold Coast is genuinely outdoor, and we plan for that rather than defaulting to a shopping centre. The light rail corridor makes independent travel training realistic between Helensvale and Broadbeach. Beach access matting at Coolangatta, Kurrawa and Burleigh means wheelchair users can actually get onto the sand. Our support workers are briefed on the accessible parks, pools and surf clubs in their own patch, because a plan goal only counts if there is somewhere to practise it.
