Logan is one of the most culturally diverse local government areas in Australia, and support only works when it makes sense to the person receiving it. We match support workers to language and cultural background wherever we can, book interpreters when we cannot, and involve families the way each family expects to be involved rather than the way a policy document assumes. Samoan, Maori, Vietnamese, Arabic, Dari, Hazaragi and Swahili speaking staff are on our roster.
From Shailer Park we cover Springwood, Loganholme, Daisy Hill, Rochedale South, Priestdale and Underwood in the north. Through the centre we work in Woodridge, Kingston, Slacks Creek, Logan Central, Marsden and Crestmead. West we cover Browns Plains, Regents Park, Hillcrest, Boronia Heights and Park Ridge. South and east we reach Beenleigh, Eagleby, Waterford, Bethania, Logan Village, Yarrabilba and Jimboomba.
Logan carries most of our supported independent living and accommodation capacity, including short term and medium term accommodation, along with high-intensity and complex nursing care, personal care, community participation and the full range of NDIS mental health supports. If you are looking at SIL vacancies or need respite at short notice, Logan is usually where we can move fastest. Call 0493 376 525 or come to the Shailer Park office.
